Reef Resort

0

Flying off to an island for a tropical getaway doesn’t necessarily mean you have to forego some of the luxuries you’re used to. The Reef Resort in Vava’u is a prime example of how you can have that idyllic experience of luxurious living in your own private villa in the island of Kapa in the Tonga group of islands.

The Reef Resort is best described as a boutique resort hotel conveniently located far enough from the town of Neiafu to have that island getaway feel, but still near enough for easy accessibility to the airport and town shops. The resort offers 4 air-conditioned luxury bungalows or fales, all equipped with walk-in hot showers, refrigerator, private decks, MP3 player/iPod docks, and WiFi access.

Resort Amenities and Island Activities

Although Tonga is known for being one of the few places where you can see and swim with humpback whales, there are tons of other water and land activities you can enjoy. Kapa Island, where the Reef Resort is located, is home to the Swallows Cave and Port Maurelle, which are both accessible via kayak or boat. You can also go deep sea fishing, scuba diving, sailing, snorkeling at the Japanese Gardens (one of Vavau’s best snorkelling spots), and go on a guided Polynesian culture tour in the Ene’io Botanical Garden.

The resort’s bar and restaurant has indoor and outdoor seating, and is unique because of their contemporary Pacific-European gourmet dishes. They don’t have a fixed menu — the guests are free to make their requests and their Swiss and German chefs will make them for you.

Rates and Contact Information

The nightly fale rates start at $TOP 360 during off-peak season and $TOP 480 during peak season. Additional rates apply for full board meals, airport/island/town transfers, and certain water activities and island tours.
