Ika Lahi Lodge

0

The Ika Lahi Lodge isn’t your typical beachfront island resort because it’s located on the foreshore of the Hunga Lagoon. Staying at the luxurious beachfront log cabins at the Ika Lahi Lodge gives you a fantastic view not just of the azure blue waters of the Pacific Ocean, but also of the serene lagoon.

Their beachfront, twin-sharing log cabins are non-airconditioned, but have ceiling fans and screened windows and doors, as well as en suite bathrooms and shared balconies. The Ika Lahi Lodge is a popular choice especially among those into sport-fishing because of the lodge’s easy access to 3,000-feet of water where MahiMahi, Yellowfin Tuna, Marlin, and other species are found.

Resort Amenities and Island Activities

Deep sea fishing and whale watching are the most popular activities offered at the Ika Lahi Lodge. However, if you just want to relax and take in the beautiful views, you can just go snorkelling or kayaking to the outer reefs, swim in the lagoon, or go on a nature walk through the rainforest up to a cliff or the Ika Lahi Lookout. Here you will get a stunning, 180-degree view of the sun, sand, and sea.

The a la carte restaurant specializes in dishes of freshly caught fish, although they also offer local and international meat cuisine. The Bait Box Bar is located right on the shore, offering a good selection of wine, beers, liqueurs, and spirits, that you can sip and enjoy on the outside balcony with a view of the sunset.

Rates and Contact Information

The waterfront log cabin accommodation is pegged at NZD $275 a night, with optional add-on rates for daily meal plans, airport transfers, whale watching, and other activities.
